Description: Does Body Dysmorphic Disorder torment your clients with distorted self-perceptions? Help them see themselves in a more realistic and healthy manner.

Full Description:
As many as five million people in the United States are believed to be suffering from Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), yet it remains an under-recognized psychiatric illness. BDD is understood to be similar to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and has been reclassified in the DSM-5 in a new category, Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders. Characterized by tormenting, obsessive thoughts concerning physical appearance, those who suffer from BDD believe that aspects of their physical appearance are deformed in some way – yet these perceived flaws are barely, if at all, noticeable to others.

The primary focus of this webinar is to understand the diagnostic criteria of BDD and its most effective treatment strategies, including medications and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
