Full Description:
This webinar is a comprehensive look at the interrelated factors that lead to falls and injuries at home. The course attendee will gain insight to primary causes of falls, such as poor or impaired vision, vestibular problems, adverse drug interactions and polymedication issues, declining balance and functional ambulation, and cognitive decline. The attendee will understand the many obstacles that lead to falls and injuries and be able to make sensible abatement recommendations to mitigate them, and thus, enhance home safety. The attendee will also recognize the emerging practice trends in telehealth and telemedicine and see how these disciplines are forging ahead to improve medical surveillance among our complex patient populations.

Your Presenter:
JOSE R. RAFOLS, OTD, MHSA, OTR/L, is a licensed occupational therapist with more than 28 years of experience in clinical orthopedics and 18 years of experience in upper extremity rehabilitation, hand injuries, diabetic foot and wound care, neurological injuries, traumatic brain injury (TBI), geriatrics, and adult rehabilitation. He is president and owner of Therapeutic Home-Bound Services Corporation (THS-Corp), which provides tailored and personalized private occupational therapy services to the South Florida area. Dr. Rafols is currently employed as the Program Director of a Post Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program (POTD) at South University, West Palm Beach, Florida.
