Description: | An inguinal hernia in newborns and children is due to weakness in the abdominal wall which is present at birth. Sometimes inguinal hernias do not show any symptoms. Some hernias may be visible when an infant is coughing, crying or straining in the course of bowel movement. The risk of inguinal hernia increases if your close relative, such as parents or sibling, has the condition. Infants who are premature are more likely to develop inguinal hernias. To know more, join our expert talk on Inguinal Hernia in Kids by our Consultant Pediatric and Laparoscopic Surgery, Dr. Rasik Shah. |
